Believe it or not - spring is on its way and our young street trees are undergoing pruning. The work is being done by the NJ Tree Foundation under the supervision of Borough Arborist Richard Wolowicz.
This corrective pruning of all young street trees will ensure that each specimen has a single dominate leader (or trunk) growing straight. Pruning crews also remove low and overlapping branches. Some trees may have an altered appearance right after pruning, but the work is designed to make the trees stronger and healthier in years to come. Trimmed branches will be picked up by the Department of Public Works.
For questions about pruning or to report street tree issues, please contact Mr. Wolowicz at firstname.lastname@example.org.
